    Dawn Wolfe covers philanthropy’s response to issues including racial and economic injustice, criminal justice reform, women’s & girl’s issues and abortion rights, LGBTQ equality, and philanthropic reform. She is based in Michigan and got her start in reporting at PrideSource Media/Between The Lines during the mid-2000’s when anti-marriage equality ballot proposals were sweeping the country. In addition to her work at PrideSource/BTL, before joining IP in 2020 Dawn worked as a freelance writer and communications consultant, including ghostwriting a manual on major gift fundraising and providing major substantive editing on a 2nd book on the same topic. She has covered criminal justice reform and other issues for Daily Kos’ former professional freelance program and focused entirely on criminal justice reporting for The Appeal. She is also a poet, spent several years training in Western European sword fighting as a martial art, and currently counts weightlifting and reading SF/Fantasy and mystery novels among her hobbies.
