OVERVIEW: The Joe and Trina Cayre Foundation primarily funds grantmaking related to Jewish causes, including Jewish educational and community organizations.

IP TAKE: The foundation lacks transparency, which limits information available on its grantmaking priorities and activities. This funder is not very approachable and does not issue calls for proposals; however, it does accept them unsolicited. It gives very little guidance here, so applicants should use their best judgement.

PROFILE: The Joe and Trina Cayre Foundation was founded in 1988. It was established by media and real estate mogul Joe Cayre and his wife Trina. Joe Cayre is behind such companies as Salsoul Records and Midtown Equities, which works in real estate. The foundation does not maintain a website, which restricts further information on its priority areas and grantmaking strategies. According to tax filings, the Joe and Trina Cayre Foundation primarily funds grantmaking related to Jewish causes, including Jewish educational and community organizations.

Grants for Jewish Causes

The Foundation does not appear to have clear funding areas; however, tax records show that Jewish Causes and support for Israel are priorities. Past grantees include UJA Federation, Yeshivah of Flatbush, Congregation Shaare Zion and Mayo Clinic Rochester.

Important Grant Details
