OVERVIEW: Gary and Marie Rose Zwerling conduct their philanthropy through the Zwerling Family Foundation. According to available tax filings, the foundation awarded $284,000 in grants in 2018. The Zwerlings have given particularly large sums to Museum of Jewish Heritage and Babson College.
BACKGROUND: Gary L. Zwerling worked at Goldman Sachs and was a longtime partner. He has since moved on to private investing and keeps a rather low profile.

EDUCATION: The Zwerling family has steadily supported Babson College, home to two endowed chairs in the family’s name, created with a $1 million gift. The couple are Babson parents and Zwerling was previously on the board. Other grantees have included Wesleyan University, Columbia University School of Dentistry, and Teachers College Fund.
JEWISH CAUSES: Gary Zwerling serves as a trustee of Museum of Jewish Heritage, which the family steadily supports. Other grantees have included Friends of the IDF, Jewish Family and Children’s Services, and Jewish National Fund.
HEALTH: Zwerling has long been involved with American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), and began his relationship with the organization when he was still an active partner at Goldman Sachs. The family has directed grants to AFAR as well as groups like Arthritis Foundation NY Chapter (Zwerling is on the board of governors) and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
