PROFILE: Established in 1928, the East Bay Community Foundation is a community foundation based in Oakland, California. It seeks to ensure “that all members of [the] community are treated fairly, with equitable opportunity and outcomes” and works to partner “partners with donors, social movements, and the community to eliminate structural barriers, advance racial equity, and transform political, social, and economic outcomes for all who call the East Bay home.” The foundation has given approximately $50 million to $65 million to organizations that benefit the residents of the East Bay in recent years.
