BACKGROUND: David Nathan Kowitz graduated from Brown University in 1985 with a degree in English literature. He was a managing director and partner of Soros Fund Management. In 2000, Kowitz and other former Soros Fund Management partners established Indus Capital Partners. He is based in the United Kingdom.

ARTS & CULTURE: David and Sarah Kowitz have supported arts outfits such as the Van Gogh Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Friends of Bedford Playhouse, Carnegie Hall Society, and J. Paul Getty Trust. Though the family is now based in the United Kingdom, they once lived in the New York City area. In the U.K., the couple founded Fairlight Arts Trust, to “help raise the profile of Hastings as a centre for internationally acclaimed public art for the benefit of the town and residents.”

ENVIRONMENT: Kowitz supports and sits on the board of Riverkeeper, which is dedicated to the conservation of the Hudson River and Harbor.

GUN VIOLENCE: The family has supported Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. Kowitz once sat on the board of an organization called Pax, which addressed gun violence.

LOOKING FORWARD: Expect the couple to stick with their interest areas, continuing to support select organizations in the United States.
