PROFILE: Established in 1950, the Brookdale Foundation Group consists of the Brookdale Foundation, the Glendale Foundation, and the Ramapo Trust. These foundations were all endowed by the Schwartz family and have the same purpose. A group of brothers (Henry, Irving, Robert, Benjamin, and Arnold Schwartz) initially established the foundation to support medicine and higher education. However, in 1984 the foundation shifted focus to issues of aging.
